I am fiercely patriotic and love Ireland. For as long as I can remember I have used my golf ball to celebrate my home country and I mark it with the colours of the national flag.... Paul McGinley

Welcome to my website paulmcginley.net My aim, via this site, is to help you get an insight into my life on tour and I will try and keep you informed as often as possible with information about me and my life on the golf course. Please feel free to send me any questions you may have via my Questions and Answers section and I will do my best to answer them. I hope you enjoy the website.

Not So Sunny at Sunningdale

After a missed cut at St Omer, where I felt it was important for me to play to stay competitive, I returned to the tour last week in France at what is my favourite venue on tour, The Paris National.  I think the golf course is a wonderful testament to what can be achieved with creativity in course architecture and it is a venue that I hope will host a future Ryder cup.  It ticks all the boxes in terms of hosting such an event

I played well all week without shooting low scores and then Sunday things went well for me as I shot a 65 and moved from 43rd to joint 7th.

This week I tried to Pre Qualify for the Open Championship at Sunningdale but unsuccessfully shooting scores of 70 and 69 to be 3 outside the mark.  I was very disappointed to miss the Open as it is my favourite event of the season and one which I have always been exempt to play in the past.

This week we play a new venue, The London club, in the European Open and I follow that with the Scottish open at Loch Lomond next week.

I am still searching for the elusive big finish which I feel is necessary for me in order to propel up the World Rankings and improve on my 29th position on the European Order of Merit.
